Father Science and Mother Nature

Yo! Earthling, what are you worried about?
why are you sulking then?
Recession, Unemployment???
Chill You are a host in Mother's House.

You are provided with unconditional
and constant supply of care.

She provides you with a blanket of air,
so that you could breathe well,
during your entire stay.

She keeps you stuck in the ground,
so that you don't fly away and become cosmic debris.
during your entire stay.

She spins and saunters around
just so that you could get a constant supply of heat.
during your entire stay.

She gently switches off light during the night.
so, that you could sleep well, each and every night.
during your entire stay.

She provides you with an unlimited supply of nutrition
so that you could eat all you want.
during your entire stay.

She recycles the water every quite often,
so that you get pure water.

Father Science joined Mother recently.

He is quite a character and performs magic
through his many kids.

One of his brightest kids Tesla,
helped Daddy do quite a lot of Magic.

Enabling you to fly like a bird.
keeping you warm, when it is too cold.
keeping you cold, when it is too warm.

He constantly improves his tricks.
Just so that, your stay is pleasant.

Some of his children
conducted fireworks in the Moon, this morning.

Watch the spectacle in the Internet,
which is yet another magic of his many kids.

Don't judge a book by its Cover

Here are some popular books and a piece contrary to the theme:

Outliers  Malcolm Gladwell probes what separates the highly successful from everyone else.

Steve Jobs -  "...Of course it was impossible to connect the dots looking forward when I was in college. But it was very, very clear looking backwards ten years later."

The Black Swan  Nassim Nicholas Taleb regards almost all major scientific discoveries, historical events, and artistic accomplishments (the rise of the internet, the PC, the World War II and 9/11) as "black swans" — undirected and unpredicted.

James Dyson - "I made 5127 prototypes of my vacuum before I got it right. There were 5126 failures. But I learned from each one. That’s how I came up with a solution. So I don’t mind failure."

Predictably Irrational  Dan Areily says, just because we have the capacity for rational thought, doesn't mean, it results in rational behavior. We are highly illogical creatures.

Brian Goodwin : "And the first assumption was, each ant is individually rhythmic, periodic. And they just synchronize, which is quite an easy process, we understand that. But then somebody else made a detailed investigation of the behaviour of individual ants and found that they're not rhythmic, they're chaotic. So then we just said, well, I wonder if we can get the rhythm, chaotic individuals interacting with this positive stimulation, will a rhythm come out of that? We didn't know and there's no theorem that would tell us that that would happen, but it did. And so we said, okay, there's our emergent property, an unexpected dynamic feature which actually serves the colony."

Johny Bunko  Daniel Pink gives six piece of Career Advice.

   1. There is no plan.

You would be petrified, if your pilot announced this.

   2. Think strengths, not weaknesses.

If you were a cook and your only weakness is ability to cook.

   3. It's not about you.

Try saying that to Steve Jobs.

   4. Persistence trumps talent.

Try competing against Celine Dion by learning music. Also, Susan Boyle did not finally win.

   5. Make excellent mistakes.

Try doing that, if your boss was Donald Trump.

   6. Leave an imprint.

Try doing that with your dirty shoes, when your spouse is mopping the floor.

Like I said, don't judge a book by its cover. These are fine books. Read it.

Can we buy everything?

I was interviewing my six-year old, Samhita on the question "Can we buy everything?" , sitting in a Store's Cafeteria.

I made her talk about her views on money, banks, work etc.,
