Oh Captain, my Captain!!!

If you are inspired by a clever string of words perfected by some wizard, it doesn't last very long. But,if you lived it...

A 20 year old budding sportsman, who grew up in a house with 150 rooms, meets with an accident and becomes nearly sightless in one eye. He picks himself up and practices hard to play for the Nation. ...and during the game, he sees two balls, instead of one.

What kind of choice does the young man have?

The 'normal' story would have been: He gives up and spins in self-pity and blames his destiny, enjoys the rest of his life, with his other eye, with the massive wealth that he inherited.

But, how often has the world witnessed a man, who would still try to predict which way the ball is moving, with his one eye and half way through, decides to throw away his contact lens from his bad eye, closes his bad eye and makes an illustrious score.

...and then in the next game onwards discovers a strategy to eliminate the double vision, by hiding the bad eye in the peak of his cap.

...and becomes captain, the youngest ever, (and the record was only recently broken)

...and he writes in his autobiography, "Tiger's tales", “I have concentrated on trying to make myself a useful one, and a better fielder than my father was.”

Pataudi and the other captain, Sullenberger, who "ditched" the plane in the Hudson River, inspire me mightily and not some clever self-helf quack, who sells string of words.
